What our free water test covers
We perform secondary water testing on site. We check hardness, pH, iron, and chlorine only – the readings we need in order to recommend and correctly size a water softener, iron filter or pH neutralizer for your home.
We do not perform full panel water testing. Full panel, potability and certified laboratory analysis – bacteria, lead, nitrates, VOCs and the like – has to be carried out by a North Carolina state-certified laboratory. That is not a service we offer, and we are not able to collect samples for it.

These whole-house systems take the water that comes from your well or municipal water supply and make it more palatable. Unfortunately, public water supplies and well water can still be contaminated to the point they are barely safe or have a strange taste. With well water, you never really know without having the water tested. Nonetheless, water treatment systems are consistent at properly cleaning the water before it is consumed regardless of there being days in which the water may be filthy. Water treatment systems have a number of benefits, such as:
- Clean, filtered water is dispensed from every water source in the home.
- Chlorine and other chemicals are removed before entering the home’s plumbing system.
- Removing chlorine before water is used in dishwashing will prevent chlorine vapors.
- Chlorine doesn’t become trapped in clothing.
- You’re protected from any breakdown that occurs in the municipal water treatment system.
- The carcinogenic effects of chlorine are stopped.
- You don’t come into contact with contaminated water.
